The Fire Yogi is a 47 minute documentary exploring the journey of a Yogi who has the extraordinary ability to use a unique breathing technique to get into union with Fire. This documentary portrays a rare and unusual Fire Ritual performed by a Yogi from India and the subsequent chemical analysis of his clothing & physical tests that examine this supernatural phenomenon. The Yogi has performed this Fire Ritual for a total of 1000 days over the last 45 years. The Yogi, weighing a mere 94 pounds (43 kilos), has been able to survive on only two bananas and a mere glass of milk with a few drops of water twice a day for the last 28 years. Many aspects of the Yogi are on the edge of unbelievability, while at the same time highlighting the power and endurance of human mind, body and spirit.

Rare Footage of 250 Year Old Devraha Baba in Vrindavan

Rare Footage of 250 Year Old Devraha Baba in Vrindavan

See description for translation. Devraha Baba was a siddha who lived for over 250 years, before entering samadhi in 1989. So elderly was he that the first President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, more than fifty years ago, said that his father had sat at the feet of Devraha Baba as a child - that is, in the middle of the nineteenth century - and Devraha Baba was already elderly at that time.

This rare video footage was recorded for a russian television channel around 1987-1989, so it is not in English.

Trident of Durga

Miracles of hinduism - Trident of Durga
Trident of Durga
 The Shakti Temple in Uttarkashi
Shakti temple is very near to Vishwanath temple. The main attraction here is a huge and heavy trishul (trident) - 6 meters in height and 90 cms at the bottom which was thrown at the devils by Goddess Durga. The trishul, as the priest told us, is made of iron in the upper part and copper in the lower part and is revered as a form of Shakti. One amazing feature of the trishul is that it cannot be moved with your entire body force but it vibrates the moment you apply pressure with one of your fingers! That was indeed some kind of magic!

It is said that when the epic battle ensued between the devtas (gods) and the asuras (demons), the shakti stambh was was thrown at devils by goddess Durga down from heaven. Since then, it has been balanced on the hood of the shesh naag (the mythological snake which also supports the earth on its hood) in pataal (the nether world).

It is also said that no one has been able to identify the metals from which the stambh is made though its globular base was created out of asht dhatu (eight metals) a thousand years ago. Different people hold different views about the trishul, it is widely believed that the trishul is made of iron in the upper part and copper in the lower part.

The column leading up to the trident is covered in red pieces of cloth decorated with gold work (traditional offering to Goddess Shakti) which symbolise the wishes of the devotees.
